Homework #6 "20 Rules"

Many of these rules I have seen or used in some way but never really thought about it until now. Such as medium. I recently had to make a billboard for my principles of graphic design class. I had to work around the size because I only had so much space. My first design got cut in half when I used photofunia. (https://photofunia.com/categories/billboards) One thing I struggle with was using the right amount of effects. Sometimes I put too many or far too few. Some of these rules come very natural and I can find it in mine and many others work. Such as using the same font. I consistently use the same font during a project. It looks awkward if you don't. I feel as some of these rules are common sense while others you have to explore and find for yourself. I would recommend anyone picking up graphic design to give this a look.

Homework 6 Favorite Movie Poster

My favorite movie poster comes from the movie Kung Fu Panda. The poster brings back memories. I loved the movie and its sequels. But the first one will always have a place in my heart. The poster is very simple. It doesn't say much about the movie itself but it doesn't need to. The design is simple and looks cool. The swirl design around Po's foot looks cool. I can't say why but I have always liked this part of the poster. Sorta hypnotizing. I like the main character Po's posture as well. It reminds me of all those kung fu films you hear about or have seen when you were young. I also like how it has Jack Blacks name on the top. Jack Black is one of my favorite actors/celebrities. Seeing his name definitely got me to see the movie. The background around Po is great as well. It gives me that ancient Chinese feel . Definitely something the film shows off. I just love this poster. Simple and effective.

Planetary Annihilation

In the near future humans have treated the planet poorly. The earth is dying and humanity blindly ignores the signs. All except a select few. These few people try to get the government of the world to see that the planet is dying. And that they need to evacuate to one of their few colonies on earth. The government refuses. As the earth gets ready to explode the group must find a way to get as many people off the planet or die.
